Q: What kind of copywriting do you do?
A: I’m a freelance copywriter specializing in content marketing for small to medium-sized businesses that provide products/services for families. I primarily write articles, blog posts, e-books, and create social media memes that help create value for customers and brand loyalty. I also manage social media.

Q: What is Content Marketing?
A: It’s content such as a blog post or article that gives valuable information to the customer or client. Most people are tired of sales pitches and are on information overload such that they either ignore ads or take action to get rid of them. They do, however, value information and the organizations that provide it.  Research shows that consumers don’t purchase products the first time they come in contact with a company. In order to make that sale, companies need to give the customer a reason to come back several times before they will buy.  Consumers will keep coming back to a company’s site to consume information they value. This is soft marketing that allows your company to shine!

Q: Isn’t social media a waste of time?
A: Not at all!  Many consumers will not purchase a product or service unless they have seen it on social media. Social media is a fabulous way to do content marketing. Giving value to your potential customers where they are already spending time is a huge benefit!  Not all social media is a good fit for each small business, but I can discuss with you which one(s) are best for you.

Q: Why should I hire you instead of writing for myself?
A:  Frankly, most small to medium-sized business owners and their employees have enough to handle.  Their time is more valuable elsewhere growing their businesses.  This is one of those times when it is actually more cost effective to hire a professional who can do the job more effectively and efficiently. This frees up your time to attend to things only you can do for your business!

Q: What experience do you have?
A: I’ve been writing for over 45 years. I have a BA in Speech Communication which means I not only write well, but I know how to reach others with my writing.  My articles have appeared in magazines and have been reprinted on sites like Crosswalk.com and DrLaura.com as well as radio stations like 95.5 The Fish.  In addition, I have vast experience in the business world working for companies of all sizes including several of my own.  Lastly, I have demonstrated skills in sales, customer service, and management.  All of this means I have the expertise and ability to understand the nuances of each unique business.

Q: For whom have you written?
A: My articles have appeared in magazines like The Old Schoolhouse Magazine,  Homeschool Enrichment.  Some of my articles have been reprinted by websites like Crosswalk.com and DrLaura.com, and a few radio station websites like 95.5 The Fish.  I’ve also written for various blogs such as ChronicJoy.com and SheLovesGod.com.

Q: If I subscribe to your blog, will my information be sold to a mailing list?

Q: What are your fees? 
A: Because each project is different and includes not only my time, but my research, experience, and training, I do not charge by the hour.  Instead, I charge a flat, firm fee. If you hire me, we will both sign a Letter of Agreement which will spell out exactly what I agree to do for your project and what the fee is.  That way my clients know exactly what to expect.  Unless you want to change the project, the quoted amount is the price you pay.  No surprises.  I do require new clients to pay 50% up front (for their first project only) and the balance payable within 30 days.

Q: Are there projects you will not take on?
A: Yes.  While I do specialize in what I call soft sales marketing (writing articles, blog posts, e-Books, white papers, case studies, and creating social media posts/memes), I generally don’t do direct response marketing or hard ads. Further, as a Christian, I will not lie or write anything I feel is contrary to my beliefs.
